Soltek Wins AGC Build San Diego Award for the 7th time

Soltek achieved a significant victory this year at the 2023 AGC Build San Diego Awards, securing their 7th Build San Diego award, this time in the Public Works category for the outstanding work on the Cuyamaca College Student Services Building.

A Soltek Success Story

On November 14, 2023, AGC honored the "best of the best" at AGC's 2023 Build San Diego Awards luncheon. Biennially, AGC recognizes the contractors that contribute to the construction of  buildings and essential infrastructure that enrich San Diego County. This award marks Soltek’s 7th AGC Build San Diego Award. A great accomplishment and a great team!

A Welcome Place For All

This new three-story, 36,374 sq. ft. Student Services Building stands as a distinguished entry point for arriving students, staff, and visitors. The project boasts innovative features, including sustainable landscaping, cantilevered walkways, and a monument staircase gracefully hanging over the plaza below. Representatives from Soltek, Gafcon, and Matt Mori, the project architect representative from HMC Architects, were all present to accept this prestigious award. Their collective efforts and exceptional teamwork throughout the project were celebrated as we proudly took home this well-deserved recognition.

About the Project

The Design-Bid-Build process was employed for the construction of a three-story, 36,374-square-foot college student services building. The interior spaces were dedicated to a welcome center, financial aid office, admissions area, cashier services, counseling facilities, and several student aid programs. Site work included the installation of a concrete plaza, an air-conditioned parking lot, pedestrian sidewalks, landscaping, irrigation systems, and a storm drain filter system.
