And the winner is... West City Campus
This competition highlights best practices and innovations in sustainability in campus operations, planning, design, curriculum, and research within the University of California, California State University and California Community College systems.
The West City Campus project won an Honorable Mention for best overall design. This project included sustainable freatures such as low E-rated windows, and solar tubes to help maximize natural daylight and reduce energy demands, the incorporation of several recycled materials such as plastic fencing, counter tops made of used newsprint, a play area surface made from old tires, and carpeting with high volume of recycled content.
