August 31, 2007 Del Monte Hotel: Preservation Design Award

 

The award was presented on September 15th at The Westin St. Francis in San Francisco.

The $31 million renovation consisted of two large, historically significant structures connected to the former Del Monte Hotel, now known as Hermann Hall, at the Naval Postgraduate School Monterey. The buildings consist of bachelor officers quarters for 140 students and renovation of all building facilities. The two structures were built in 1888 and historically significant and the Navy deemed these buildings eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places.
