Model of the Urban Training facility
SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- Soltek Pacific was recently awarded the Naval Engineering Facilities Southwest Division’s Combined Arms Military Operations in Urban Terrain, (MOUT), project at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center (MCAGCC), Twentynine Palms, Calif. This $18.5 million project involves the construction of a realistic simulated Urban Core consisting of 40 single and multi-story structures, complete with exterior ladders and fire escapes, totaling 128,000 sf. The Combined Arms MOUT facility will support a variety of training tasks related to the deployment and maneuverability of Marine units in an urban setting, by creating a challenging and complex three-dimensional environment that resembles “real world” urban conditions.
The Design Team includes: Architects Mosher Drew Watson and Ferguson (MDWF), RBF Consulting and Stedman & Dyson Structural Engineers.
The Soltek project team includes; Stephen W. Thompson, Managing Corporate Officer; Kevin Cammall, Estimator; William Naylor; Design Build Manager; Terry Walborn, Project Manager; Joseph Whipple, Superintendent.
