Breaking Ground at Barnard Elementary

 Breaking Ground at Barnard Elementary

Last Thursday, on February 29th, Soltek attended the Ground Breaking Ceremony for the Barnard Mandarin Magnet Elementary School. The event featured multiple Lunar New Year performances by students and inspiring speeches in both English and Mandarin from the school's young student body president and vice president, as well as San Diego Unified School District's Superintendent, Dr. Lamont Jackson.

“With a new campus, we hope Barnard students will thrive and deepen their immersive language learning." - Dr. Lamont Jackson.

Soltek's team, alongside students, staff, and representatives from SDUSD, gathered at the ceremony on the school's joint-used field, overlooking the site where construction had already commenced on the new Kindergarten building.

In addition to the new building, the Barnard ES WSM project, scheduled for completion next spring, encompasses various site improvements including upgrades to existing classroom buildings, the kindergarten area, student services offices, the multipurpose building, as well as the respective hardcourts and play courts.

Notably, the school is enhancing safety measures with the expansion of the parking lot, featuring a designated on-campus drop-off and pick-up area, an addition that elicited some extra cheers from the attending staff and parents.
