O’Farewell to O’Farrell - A Campus Transformed

After four years of collaboration and hard work, Soltek is proud to celebrate the completion of the O’Farrell Charter School Whole Site Modernization and Student Union Building project.

Completed in phases, this project transformed the O’Farrell campus while supporting continued learning and teaching throughout construction. From start to finish, the work focused on creating updated, welcoming spaces that better serve students, staff, and the broader school community.

Preparing the Campus for Transformation

The first phase of the project centered on preparing the campus for the work ahead. Temporary classroom buildings were installed for students and staff, along with the infrastructure needed to support them. Site improvements were also completed to maintain safe and efficient campus access and circulation.

Campus-Wide Improvements

The second phase brought major upgrades across the campus. Classrooms were renovated, roofing was replaced, and building exteriors were refreshed. Additional improvements included a new lunch shelter, upgraded food service areas, new auditorium seating, synthetic turf, improved drainage, and enhancements to parking and student drop-off areas.

Together, these updates helped modernize the campus and create improved spaces for everyday learning and student life.

A New Student Union Building

The final phase introduced a new 12,550-square-foot Student Union Building that now serves as a centerpiece of the campus. The building includes a theater, chemistry classroom, music classroom, weight room, offices, student lounge, support spaces, and a concessions area serving the adjacent football field.

More than just a new building, the Student Union brings new energy to campus life. It provides students with places to connect, participate in the arts, support athletics, and enjoy a stronger sense of community.

Built Through Partnership

The completion of this project reflects the strong partnership among the school, district, design team, and construction partners. Over four years, that shared effort helped bring a renewed vision for the O’Farrell campus to life. The result is a fully modernized campus, a vibrant new Student Union Building, and a lasting investment in the future of O’Farrell Charter School.
