New Classroom Building at the Language Academy

Project Description

This Design-Bid-Build, phased project included the demolition of 16 portable classrooms and the construction of a new 24,761 sq. ft. two-story building housing 14 classrooms. Additionally, a 4,112 sq. ft. two-story addition was built to provide two specialized classrooms for music and science. The project also featured the installation of HVAC systems, fire sprinklers, and several campus improvements. These enhancements included a new joint-use field developed in collaboration with the City of San Diego, new off-street parking, a designated student pick-up and drop-off area, and a public address system. The design and construction of the school met the standards set by the Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS), reflecting its commitment to high-efficiency and environmentally friendly building practices.
