The San Diego International Airport Project included modifications and additions to the existing Terminal 2 East facilities between Gates 25 and 27 to include concession shell spaces, a common food court seating area, new gate 27 queuing area, and phased re-flooring of the entire Terminal 2 East Concourse. The new and temporary passenger boarding bridge will be used for plane arrivals from American Airlines. Level 1 will be used as concession storage and for deliveries. A new freight elevator will be used for food delivery services and airport maintenance personnel. Soltek proposed a hydraulic hole-less elevator in lieu of an electric traction elevator as specified, saving the airport additional cost impact to redesign the elevator shaft. The future tenants for the 6 concession spaces include Brighton, Peet’s Coffee, California Pizza Kitchen, Panda Express, Jack in the Box, and 101 Wines.
