Soltek provided Construction Management services for the San Miguel Hall Fire Safety and Repair. The project involved extensive renovations to install code-compliant fire safety provisions along with general building repairs and upgrades for an 86,996 sq. ft. student residential complex. The facility is comprised of two, 8-story dormitory towers with housing provisions for 396 students, and a separate single story commons building.
The work scope included the replacement of all mechanical and electrical, along with all building finishes. Life safety improvements involved the installation of new wet pipe fire sprinklers, fire pumps and alarm systems, and a new emergency generator. Additional upgrades included new dual glazed windows, single-ply roofing, new waterproofing at the glazed sun rooms, the addition of window safety devices, and structural modifications and upgrades. Soltek’s commitment to sustainable and environmental practices on the San Miguel project included the recycling of all existing carpet and base materials, aluminum window frames and copper water piping and wiring.
