Rowan Elementary Renewed

Rowan Elementary Renewed

After nearly three years of hard work, including the full preconstruction phase, Soltek is proud to celebrate the completion of the Rowan Elementary School Whole Site Modernization and Joint Use Field LLB project. This project has been a testament to what is possible when strong partnerships form between committed project teams and engaged project owners.

From the beginning, the Rowan team brought the kind of energy that keeps a project moving forward, even in the face of challenges. Project Manager Felicia Herrera said it best:

“It’s such an important part on any project, the teamwork and no matter what challenges we faced together during the project, we all had this collective teamwork spirit that we just kept the momentum going no matter what”

A campus-wide transformation

With the exception of the school library, every building on the Rowan Elementary School campus has received a facelift. From the outside looking in, the campus essentially looks like a whole new school. The scope of work spanned across the entire Rowan campus and included:

  • Demolition of nine existing portable buildings
  • An overall campus modernization including eight existing buildings
  • Two new kindergarten portable classrooms
  • An addition to the existing administration building
  • A brand-new administrative support building
  • Modernization of all classroom buildings
  • Upgraded parking and drop-off area
  • Site and playground ADA upgrades and restriping
  • New shade structures
  • A new joint-use field with parking

A brighter place to learn

The pops of color featured throughout every building brightens up the entire campus and creates an inspiring, creative learning environment. What really sets the campus apart is the giant play area for all ages, along with the adjacent joint-use field that adds even more space for students and the community!

Teamwork that reached beyond the jobsite

The transformation reflects true collaboration from start to finish. The Rowan project team kept momentum through every phase, with support that extended well beyond the jobsite. Rowan’s principal even shared that she felt, at times, like “part of the team,” attending project meetings and always looking for ways to help. The larger Rowan community stepped in as well, repainting one of the school’s many murals and adding to the effort of making the campus a brighter place for all.

Comunity is emeded in the campus identity, this image depicts a mural that was hand painted by Rowan community members, contributing to a brighter more colorful learning environment.
